Photography Opt: Day 2: We will take some time to photograph the famous Texas Bluebonnets

March showers bring April flowers (as they say in Texas!) and those flowers are Texas bluebonnets

During Spring, specifically in the month of April, many Texans and other visitors from all over the United States visit Texas to see the bluebonnets in full bloom. It’s a great time to take photos of these stunning vibrant flowers and their bold beautiful colors. You have until late Spring to see them in full bloom.

Bluebonnet Facts:

  • Bluebonnets were named Texas' official state flower in 1901
  • Despite their name, bluebonnets aren't only blue
  • Bluebonnets are toxic
  • Texas was the first state to plant flowers alongside the state highways
  • Bluebonnets like the full sun which is one reason they do so well in Texas!

Equipment and Accessories for Wildflower Shoot:

  • DSLR or mirrorless camera
  • Macro lens
  • Wide angle and short telephoto lens
  • A sturdy tripod
  • Extra batteries
  • Shutter release

Photography Opt: Day 3 : Frio Cave Tours:  See Bats, Birds and Beetles. Tours reveal the spectacle of one of Texas' biggest bat flights!

We have tickets for the Frio Bat Flight on the night of April 8th.

For a once in a lifetime experience we will go to on Frio Bat Flight Tour and witness this awesome site as 10 to 12 million Mexican Free-tailed Bats ascend into the evening sky before sunset at Frio Cave near Concan, Texas.

This is the second largest bat population in the world open to the public!

Also at the bat viewing area we will possibly see Cave Swallow, Rock and Canyon Wren, and you might even see a ringed-tail cat or skunk entering the cave to catch dinner. Be amazed as several species of raptor dive into the exiting swirl of bats.
